How does the 'Global Shipping Program' work?
I'm aware that I(the seller) ship the item to a US location, then they re-package it and send it to my buyer. What I'd like to know is if the item arrives damaged, or is 'lost in the mail, how does eBay 'cover it'?
Do they refund what the buyer paid for the item+shipping+taxes+(other fees), from their funds, and I keep the funds that buyer had sent me? Or, something else happens?
Thanks!

Thanks for the fast response. I can't seem to find WHERE the money comes from that's refunded to the buyer if an item arrives damaged, or is lost in the mail. Does eBay refund it out of their pocket, or do they either just not pay me, or 'take it back' if they have paid me?

If you ship it through the GSP, they cover it if the item gets lost or damaged after it leaves the GSP.

If the buyer files a not as described case, which they will probably do if it arrives damaged, then the refund comes from you.

eBay doesn't check the pictures in my listing to see the condition? If I sent the item as my listing pix shows, and it arrived at the US shipping center in the same condition, then if the item arrived damaged, then it was damaged either at the shipping center, or en route from there to my buyer.
What does eBay do then?

The argument you raise is the exact same argument everyone raises who receives an unfair claim against them for item not as described. It doesn't matter what you say, pictures you take, videos you take, witnesses, nothing. If the buyer files an item not as described case, eBay believes the buyer and you refund the money and you pay return postage if you want the item back.

In the event this does happen and it's not your fault ebay will cover it. However the automated system for returns most likely will not handle it properly so you will need to contact Ebay's Global Shipping Team for help.
I would contact Ebay support by a private message to AskeBay at twitter.
Ask them to put you in touch with the Global Shipping Team.
