I cannot seem to find the answer to this question, so hopefully someone will see it and know the answer. Here it is: After purchasing a shipping label and realizing my package requires additional postage, how do I purchase the extra postage? I sell a lot of coins so I use the standard envelope for mailing not to exceed 3 ounces which costs a maximum of about $1.08. It is my understanding that these labels Cannot be Voided. So let's say I buy a one ounce label for an envelope and then realize I need a two ounce label. Ebay won't allow me to buy the extra ounce. So if I rebuy a label, I lose 60 cents? So what I usually do in addition to the label is place a regular stamp on the envelope to make up for the cost of the second ounce. Recently I had a problem with this on a more expensive mailing. I had already printed a label, then found out I needed additional postage. So I placed $3 in regular postage stamps to the package, but then Ebay ended up debiting my account to pay the post office because they said I had insufficient postage. It's been three months and I have not received a refund. Is there any way around this? I also don't like voiding labels because it takes forever to get a refund.

Regular USPS packages (NOT those special eBay "Standard" envelope) go through sorting center machines that detect underpaid postage. Apparently these machines don't recognize when you put $3 in stamps on the package to make up for underpaid postage; the machine just does its thing of passing the postage due on to your online account.

The only way around voiding labels would be to double check before you buy the label.
Before you purchase the label make sure the weight is correct.
