How can i send a partial refund on a large multiple shipping order?

I had a buyer purchase multiple items and paid shipping for each single item, the total shipping was around $200, I combined shipping to bring the shipping down to about $20, we agreed that I would refund him the extra $180, however I'll the items he purchased were around $20 so I can't send him a single refund through any single item, is there a way to send a single refund? Or do I have to refund complete orders until I reach $180?

If the items appear on your orders page with separate order numbers, then you should prorate the refund and send a refund on each item.

If the items appear on your orders page with one single order number, then you can send one single refund, and within the refund flow you can apply the refund to the order as a whole, to a single item, or spread across items.

Sounds like scenario number one applies here @valevilla_9013 . Unfortunately it's more work and more accounting, but it's do-able.

I suggest setting up combined shipping rules on your account settings>shipping preferences page to avoid this go-forward. 🙂
