I see that UPS shipments using ebay labels only allow insured values to $999 and I want to insure my shipment for the full auction value (way over $999). If I ship thru my linked ebay UPS account and paste the tracking number into ebay, will it credit me for what the buyer paid for shipping? (I'll still have lost some $, but at least I'll have full insurance coverage in case the package is lost.) Please advise urgently - trying to ship tomorrow and can't find this answer in ebay community.

I'm assuming this is for the Marantz. You did have a separate shipping charge for this item on the listing. If you purchase the label elsewhere and pay for it yourself you still get to keep the shipping funds eBay collected from the buyer. Just make sure you upload your tracking number to the order.
Example, I sold a lot of Barbie Dolls and charged $15.00 for shipping. I can buy my shipping label from Pirateship and pay for my label with my PayPal debit card. I can still upload the tracking number from Pirateship and keep the shipping money collected through eBay. The reason why I use my debit card at Pirateship? I get cash back with my debit card purchases.

Hey, great item and nice job on the restoration!
As the other poster said, you can purchase shipping anywhere and upload the tracking. eBay will pay you the full amount the buyer paid, less sales tax (which goes to the buyer's state) and less fees.
For the full breakdown you can view the payment details here. Click view details next to the transaction and you'll see the exact amount you will receive when eBay releases the funds to you.

I use Pirate Ship and their private insurance and pay with a 2% cash back credit card.
