How can I tell if I got a courtesy refund?

What language does ebay use to describe if I was refunded from the seller or from ebay itself?  I opened an INR for an item that was overdue by 3 weeks from the projected arrival.  I was eventually refunded, and then a week later, the package finally showed up from Limbo.  If the seller didn't have to pay for my refund, then I will take the package as a freebie, but if ebay took the payment back from him, I want to properly pay for my item.

There are 3 Transaction Details pages at PayPal --

the payment, the refund, and back to the funding source.

If the refund came from "eBay, Inc" then you've been curtsied.
