I sold a printer that weighs about 30 pounds and I'm wondering what's the least expensive way to ship it. I got a $56 quote for Priority Mail, but I'm wondering if UPS or FedEx would offer a lower rate and how I'd go about getting it? Thanks for any help.

Since eBay won't ever let you have the email address or phone number for fear you will complete your transaction outside of eBay -- the option to exchange contact info has been dilapidated [sic] -- you can always pick the third option without any compunction:

Generally speaking, heavier items often will ship more cheaply with FedEx Home or UPS Ground. The exception, I believe, is if your buyer is close to you (USPS zones 1-3) ... but you would need to compare prices.
A couple of quick notes. Make sure that your package dimensions are accurate - if you use the wrong dimensions on your label, you may later find an unexpected added charge. Also, please note that FedEx SmartPost (it is a combo FedEx-USPS service) will likely present as your cheapest option - but it slow, and it can be a maddening option if you have problems such as damage ... we no longer use that service, and would rather spend a couple of bucks more for better service.

ITYM "deprecated," but no, eBay does provide the buyer's phone number and email address in the Purchase Details record for the sale. I think you can view it for 30 days.
Just go to your Orders page, and in the pulldown menu in the Actions column for that item, select the "View record" option (way down at the bottom of the pulldown menu). The buyer's full contact info will be displayed, including phone number and email address.

Precisely what does your question have to do with the title of this thread?

Thank you. I was about to ask the same thing.

Just a guess here~but perhaps the OP sent a Best Offer that he now finds he doesn't want to offer because he did not figure how much the item would cost to ship before he sent the Best Offer?

Thanks for the replies. I thought I put how do I get better shipping offers, but somehow it ended up as it did. Someone did purchase the item and I was trying to figure out the most economical way to ship it. I ended up paying $57 for Priority Mail and had to spend $6 for a box. I was just trying to get whatever I could to offset the cost of the new printer, so it worked out in the end. Thanks again.

Not true - as long as a buyer and seller are engaged in an active transaction you can get both a tele. number & e-mail address up to 30 days after delivery - I still can get a tele # fro items delivered in Dec. 2018 but no e-mail address.. Have done this two or 3 time over the last 11 years.
You cannot publicly publish contact information on the eBay site (tele - e-mail etc) in a listing or eBay message or community boards, etc.

Regarding how to find an email address for an old buyer: the PayPal payment notification that's sent to your email account contains the buyer's email address as the Reply-To: address in the email headers.
Although the notification is sent to you from PayPal (on behalf of the buyer), any reply you send will be addressed to the buyer himself, not PayPal. Just open the old notification, click Reply, and your buyer's email address will be in the To: header line of the new message window.

Thanks for the info. So now there are two ways to get seller/buyer e-mail and/or tele. no. vs the earlier reported way of no way. Of course there is no way one can be 100% assured these contacts are up to date and accurate until you try to message or call. I have reported one buyer with non current contact info. eBay response "Thanks & they will look into it" but never advised via eBay message or smoke signals if the info was updated - oh well, another old adage ,with a twist, might apply here once again i.e. "What is good for the goose...ain't necessarily.... good for the gander."
Ciao! & Pura Vida!

You don't need to retract the best offer at this point in the timeline: The transaction has already been paid.
It's before you retract the best offer: Since you don't have the email or phone at that point in the timeline, you can select the third option (read it) on that screen to retract the best offer.

1. not certain where you're coming by replying to me.
2. am not the OP
3. have only offered information on how to get the e-mail & tele on eBay
4. FYI finding the correct spelling & meaning , even in the Urban Dictionary, of any word is easy today with our good friend Google. Spell check software sum times ain't always write and does verify word usage a.k.a. diction. Used to hate flipping through the pages of that big fat Websters dictionary and Roget's Thesaurus.
