How can I change the tracking number after combining shipment and voiding first label?

I had a sale on Sunday (repeat buyer), he paid immediately and I packed his item and printed the shipping label this morning.  Before I could even go to the post office he bought two more items on a BIN.  This guy doesn't ever wait for a combined invoice, he just pays separately for the items (not complaining about making sale!!), it just makes for more time involved in refunding.  I decided since I had to use a bigger box that there would be room for the item he bought yesterday, so I unpacked first item and added it to the box with the two items he bought today.  I voided the label from the first item.  Now I am trying to change the tracking number shown for the first item so it can reflect the actual box it is in.  I sure have not been able to figure out how to do that, any ideas?  thanks

You probably can't get rid of the original tracking number, but that's fine because you can still add a second tracking number.

On your orders page click the edit button next to the tracking number. On the next screen scroll to the right and click add another.
