How are your returns preferences set up?

Curious how some of you have your returns preferences set up? First of all, I have never gone in and even looked at my preferences until today after getting an automatically approved return. It seems in the past(and this is under the new returns policy) that I have had returns where I was able to have the option of agreeing to the return and possibly letting the buyer keep the item after refunding, not just having it automatically approved and a shipping label paid out of my account.  How can I offer free returns but have a little communication and options prior to having things done so automatically? Depending on what the reason for return and what the item cost, I might just want to let them keep it and not pay for a return label.

Also, getting TRS status and discount is totally individual per listing, correct? I can choose which listings to get my TRS search results, discount, badge etc. If so, is there a breaking point where if you don't have a certain number of listings with all that is required for TRS, then you will loose TRS status all together?

I has it set so I could see all returns I get and can choose what to do even though I had free returns. I like to be able to have some options rather than having eBay automate it for me. I just feel a little safer that way.

Check off the box in site preferences for an RMA number.   That gives you time to deal with the situation.
