How I screwed up my refund

I’m just venting here because I’m out $4000.00.

purxhased an item was due to receive on a certain date but it hadn’t been shipped and I contacted seller and she said would ship when she gets time, I filed a claim with PayPal item not received because no options were yet available on eBay.

a few days later I received the item which was defective.

because I filed a claim with PayPal and closed it when I received the item, all other options from them and eBay were forfeited. (According to PayPal and eBay)

so now I message the seller daily kindly  asking for my money back and she doesn’t respond.

I'm bummed, bummed, bummed!

If you paid by credit card, contact your card company.

Even if you closed the Item not Received case you should be able to open a Not as Described case as it was defective.

I can't imagine any circumstance where I would spend and send 4K to a perfect stranger.

You messed up by going through PP instead of eBay:

Well for the money if the seller is in the US you should go through legal advice on this.

It will cost you but should be able to get some back.

me too !

I have been waiting for 2 months for the 6000 euros refund after I sent item back to seller, while 10 days after he siged the package he told paypal there is water in it.  Paypal can't make a decision and keep me waiting for almost 2 months, at last I have to pay seller 400 euros and get the rest of my money back.  very tired and won't trust french seller any more.

Yeah, the problem is when you closed it with Paypal you told them everything was okey-dokey. The obvious was not to close it until all good.  I would have thought you should have known that, especially for such a pricey item. Hopefully filing with eBay will be an option. I doubt you can get the close case reopened for sure.  Good luck.
