Help with buyer returning item-questions

So I recently sold an oculus rift. I never opened or used it. Straight from the store to eBay. So someone buys this and tells me that when he’s setting it up he keeps getting a hardware error message and requests a refund saying that it’s a broken product. I never used an oculus so I did my research and gave him links to possible solutions. He never got back to me on that. He only said that he went to his local pc maintenance store and got it checked out. What should I do?

Dont do anything unless they open a return request.  Then simply accept the return.  DO NOT email the buyer again.

When/if they open a return case, depending upon their selection, accepted return for refund and provide the return label. If the buyer opens a SNAD and you refuse the return you will receive a seller defect as well as eBay forcing the return and you possibly being out the money and the item. I would make the buyer return the item however to receive their money back.
