Hi, I bought a camera recently with a touchscreen. The item was listed as used condition and used one time. All the information listed by the seller was a screenshot of the manufacturer’s item details. There was no additional info given besides pictures. I received the camera, charged it, and realized one area on the touch screen does not work effectively. I sent a message to the seller to request a return based on this. He has a no return policy and is refusing. He stated that the touchscreen is not like an iPhone and taken more work to be effective and is not as responsive, and I should do my research ahead of buying a camera like that. He stated that I was only having buyer’s remorse and that the camera operates to the extent to which it was designed. He added some links to amazon reviews about the camera. He also stated in his response that he and his wife experienced the same issue but it’s to be expected on that camera and is not faulty. I sent a video of the defect and he replied that I was not pushing the screen in the correct spot. Every other button works on the camera, so apparently I know how to work a touch screen. I’m a rare ebay buyer and don’t know the guidelines on these things. I read that ebay pretty much demands returns by the sellers, but is that always the case? Can he claim that the camera type is inherently bad and I should know that ahead of time? And by the way, it doesn’t have that bad of reviews, and I did tons of research, and it’s for a kid anyway. Also, in addition to the function problems, there are scratches on the lens cap that weren’t listed, and he said he didn’t notice them. I would love some input on what to expect and whether a return can be forced by ebay when he is being defiant.
Thanks,
Paige

I'm not sure why people get into all this back and forth stuff with videos and all. If you've had it less than 60 days, there should be a return link on your Purchase history page. Use it.

Stop communicating with your seller and open an Item Not As Described dispute.
Your seller will be required to pay return postage and issue a full refund once you return.

Thank you. I started the INAD process and am waiting for the timeline required by ebay to wait for their help. Is ebay able to issue the refund even if the seller isn’t willing? At this point he is not bc he is basically saying I’m too dumb to operate an inherently bad camera design and should have done my research and that’s not his fault.
Thanks for the help!

Do Not communicate with the sellrer anymore. All communication has to be done thru the resolution Center and yes ebay can take the money from his account when it is necessary
