Help with a return and refund request!!

I sold my older Apple watch on Sept 2.  It was fully working and had all the original packaging and was iCloud unlocked.  Ready for the new owner.  A few days after the buyer  received the watch, I got a message saying that it wasn't staying on or kept restarting.  Not a problem I ever had with it.  But I get it, problems arise.  I tried telling her a few things to do to remedy it.  This went on for a few days but then I said that if she would like to return it,  I would refund her money.  I would need it all back in the condition that it was sold.  SO, I got the watch back yesterday and it is iCloud locked to her account.  I have tried all day today to walk her through how to remove it from her devices.  Now its showing on my end (when I try to pair it to see whats wrong, if anything) that the watch "was stolen and erased" ... meaning that she activated a lost watch on Find my iphone.  I get she wants her money back, but this isn't in the same condition that I sold it.  Its worthless to me now.   If she files through ebay, I'm going to have to refund her money, aren't I?   Even though I have tried to do it all right, I'll be out the money and the watch to sell, correct?

NO!  If the watch is locked and reported stolen then it is significantly altered and the MBG is extinguished.

If you have done all of that and gotten no help, then quit communicating and wait & see if the buyer files a case.  When that happens you probably will need to call CS (get a USA rep) and explain how the item was "altered" and thus no longer eligible for the MBG.  Might need to get to a supervisor before you get someone who "gets it!"

Then again when this happens perhaps contact eBay through their webpage and then you can upload any evidence you have.

If the lock screen identifies your buyer in any way, that's your proof.

Here is eBay's Condition of returned items policy.... just in case your need to "educate" or point to something during a chat with CS! Smiley Frustrated
