Help • USPS returned package "no such number" but buyer says it is the correct address, what do I do

I recently sent an item a buyer purchased through eBay priority mail by USPS. The postal service said "No Such Number" and returned the package to me. The buyer finally responded to my messages and said they don't (usually) have any issues with delivery and that the address they gave is the correct address. Can someone help me on what to do next? How do I re-send it without paying for shipping again and how do I resend it to the same address if it may be returned to me again? I'm baffled. Thanks for your time and assistance! Kate

I did that as well. The buyer's local post office admitted they made a mistake but would not pay for re-shipment. Per your advice (thank you very much) I was able to rub off the marks the carrier made on the label (because the marks were made on top of the tape so it was pretty easy) and I'm going to take the box back to the post office and drop off (which is on the counter)  (instead of taking to a clerk at the counter for a receipt which is what I usually do) and hope for the best. This is a fragile piece of stem ware. I can't believe I'm dealing with this going back and forth across the country like this!

Well, I dropped the same package to the post office on Friday at around 3:30PM and as of today, Saturday, 3:30PM, tracking says it is still at the post office. Which to me means they did not send it along to the next distribution center on Friday, nor today prior to closing, so at the moment not feeling optimistic.
