Help: Getting scammed as a seller, what are my options?

I have been selling/attempting to sell collectibles and trading cards (mostly pokemon). I have sold a few successfully and have had no problems. Some items I have sold had box damaged, and every listing that I have made has shown multiple pictures highlighting the damages because I know how some of these collectors want mint boxes/cards and I didn't want to have to deal with people wanting refunds so I have made it a point to make sure that all defects are noted.

I sold this card: https://www.ebay.com/itm/184378961279

The guy is trying to return it and is saying that the back of the card is not what was listed on my ebay post (see attached, that is what he sent in the message).

This was not any damage that could happen during shipping (no bends), plus it was packaged well in multiple card sleeves, a top loader, between 2 pieces of cardboard, wrapped in bubble wrap, shipped in a bubble mailer. This looks like a totally different card (but he is saying that I sent him a different card).

I think he is trying to do a switcheroo, I'm guessing he's planning on sending me a beat up card and keep my mint one? Or send me a completely different card in hopes that ebay wont do anything about it? IDK, the card he showed doesn't even seem like it could be a newer card like the one I sent him, it has black specs on it which show up on older cards from the early 2000's.

So is there anything I can do? I am going to write ebay an email after this, but I think I'm basically SOL and i have to pay for him to ship me back a different card than I sent him? I have heard stories about this kind of thing happening and Ebay usually sides with the buyer?

Is there anything I can do in the future to prevent this sort of thing from happening? Post pictures with my ebay user name in them? Take videos of me packaging the items? That seems like going way too far just to avoid getting scammed, I wish people were more honest =/

Would the video thing even work? Looking for advice on this situation and how to avoid it in the future, thanks 😞

There seems to be nothing you can do but report & block the buyer.

EBay doesn't view video

No.

No.

All you can do right now is accept the return and provide return shipping.

Once something is returned, after you refund, if they sent back a different card, you can report the buyer for abusing the MBG.

You can also file a mail theft report with USPS and file a police report with your local police department and one in the buyers county.

Have a great day.
