Hello sellers, sending to other then the paypal users address?

Hi @tereshand_86, No, it is not an eBay rule that sellers may ship only to the buyer's PayPal address.  Quite the opposite.  Buyers may have many ship-to addresses, such as home, work, gift addresses, whatever they want.  In order to conform to eBay selling rules, a seller must ship only to the address the buyer indicates at checkout.  As long as it's in a country the seller ships to, it can certainly be a gift address, like to your brother.

If you bought something to send to your brother but did not indicate his address as the ship-to address at checkout, in order to keep their seller protections, the seller will need to cancel the transaction and give the reason as a problem with the buyer's address.  Then they will need to re-list the item and you will need to re-buy it and remember indicate your brother's address at check out.  You can add your brother's address to your My eBay addresses ahead of time, so you won't have to fumble with it at checkout.

There are some facilities where people may only receive packages from third-party vendors like eBay.  Even if that is not the case here, why incur the double postage of having the item shipped first to you and then you forwarding it to your brother.  If the seller does not know how to cancel the transaction as instructed, have them come here and it will be explained to them.  Good luck!

When you check out, use your brothers address as the ship to address when you pay.

Have a great day.

Sellers aren't breaking any rules if they ship to something other than the buyer's ship-to address at checkout.  It is not a policy violation.

The requirement to ship to the address on the payment is to qualify for seller protection.  If the seller chooses to forfeit that protection by shipping to another address, that is his choice.  He is not breaking any rule.

I have items sent directly to family and friends all the time.

Before paying on the payment page look for the "ships to" address, below that you will see the word change. click that and it will allow you to put in a different address. Do not click on Make this my default address or everything will go there, leave it unchecked and it will just be a one time switch.

Now you may or may not see a change in the s/h if the seller is using the shipping calculator this is fine and automatic to set up the correct postage to your brothers location.

Mind this will only work with domestic addresses, if your brother resides in a different country the seller may not want to ship internationally and they would be allowed to refuse.
