Heads up, 3 UPS rate increases before end of 2024

Ebay announced rate increase August 12th, E commerce posted    "surcharge rate increases will rise to $7.75 from Sept. 29 through November 23, and will rise again to $9.95 through December 28, 2024 (just about the time to expect new shipping rates for 2025). Large Package and Over Maximum Limits surcharges will likewise increase at the end of September and again in mid-November through the end of December".

 Getting the word out so sellers won't be surprised. Not sure about USPS surcharge for the holiday season this year, but they did just do a rate increase July 1st and 14th, hopefully that's enough.

Luckily these all fall into the category of things that normal sellers are just never going to encounter. 

Very few of us sell items oversized for UPS, and I always package things that would be special handling to not need it (tube goes in a box usually).

Glad to hear rate increase/surcharges are for United Parcel Service and not USPS.

Oversize is an additional charge, this is for regular packages that may take extra time, distance or out of the way deliveries, it's build into the shipping price.

As someone who uses all carriers I noticed that that the UPS rate increases started 8/12 are quite substantial.  I did a comparison to Pirateship and the rates there do not change from now to 8/12 and in fact show cheaper.  For example one of the sample rates I compared, if shipping today, UPS 9.99 on Ebay labels and 10.33 on Pirateship.  Change to 8/12 and UPS goes to 13.45 on Ebay labels but stays at 10.33 on Pirateship.  Maybe they haven't updated yet at Pirateship??  I have never used Pirateship but use it to compare and this would be the first time PS has been cheaper and apparently dramatically so. Also, there is no news that I can find where UPS is raising rates.  It appears to be just ebay.  If any expert knows the answers or can provide clarity I would appreciate it.
