on priority mail envelopes... and my post office is very strict, they will demand i pay the difference. So annoying. I've been refusing items i know i wouldn't pay $4-5 extra to just get back. It's absurd and there needs to be a solution to this issue from eBay.

Are these ebay supplyed return label's ?

If these are eBay return labels, then the problem is your post office. eBay First class return labels can be put on Priority packaging (up to 70 pounds I believe) and no postage should be due. You need to talk to your PO about it. They should not be charging you.

You know you still have to refund the buyer if you refuse the returned package right? you can't as a seller refuse a returned package. and if buyers are using priority labels, ebay will be billed the correct amount under the automated postage verification system so your PO won't be charging you postage due.

It is annoying, however buyer will get their refund, even though you refused pickup. Is it worth a defect on your acount and/or a neg?? Only you can answer that. When the buyer ASKS for returns, do you advise them how to package the item for return( NOT TO USE PRIORITY MAILERS) when returning the item??

These are auto approved labels. Like if the item didn't work, they will ask for a return .My Settings are set to auto approve. Why would the post office allow a label i auto provide to them, put on a priority mail? Like for example, i had someone return a 4 ounce widget, they put it in a flat rate envelope, and put my auto approved label on the package. I am pretty sure the auto approved label was only 1st class 4 ounces and $2.66 i imagine.

Yes i am aware, i just refund them, just expressing the frustrations. These labels are not paid for by ebay. They are my own that ebay auto generates for approval.

If these are prepaid return labels from the eBay return request, they don't have any postage on them.
They say "No postage necessary if mailed in the USA" or words to that effect. It's a special label that says it is for returns. It also includes the return # on the label.
I was looking at the label for one item that I had to return for SNAD a while ago, and I noticed this. It was returned priority mail in the same prioritiy mail package that I received it in.

They are EBAY labels that ebay pays for, they are not your labels. They are first class RETURN SERVICE labels so the first class weight requirement does not apply. There's no 16oz maximum weight. And again you won't be charged postage due.

Well some odd reason ebay has first Class lock in for auto returns ,do to the one 4 Oz. item returned . This is a ebay system's Glitch issue . You should call back and get a supervisor or a manager on the phone.

You can find this on the USPS website. The label in question is a USPS return service label so that is the column you want to look at. And it shows the postage calculation is based on "average price"......not "individual weight and rate".

Just point out that it’s a return service label. There’s no 4oz or 16oz weight requirement. I’m not sure what ebays contract is for these labels BUT either USPS bills them whatever the actual cost is OR ebay has contracted a flat yearly amount for a certain number of returns (like $100,000 a year and it covers 70,000 parcels). And since they are electronic labels there shouldn’t be postage due, eBay will be billed.

thats not surprising. lots of bad answers over there. i mean, you are not supposed to put anything but a priority label on a priority package but if you do, usps will still deliver it to the recipient. If the label was purchased online you will be backcharged the correct amount for a priority package under the new automated postage verification system. if you buy a label from ebay or paypal and you underpay or you put a first class label on a priority box, usps will charge ebay or paypal who in turn will charge you.
