- I will start by saying my handling time is 3 business days as I did not want to be involved with eBay guaranteed shipping. I send my items out sooner. Now with EBay 's estimated delivery date and handling time not being shown I am getting irate buyers. On Friday evening buyer bought an item. I am in N J they are in CA eBay gives delivery date as Tuesday, tonight I get a nasty message from buyer that they only ordered from me and not the River because of the date I promised them. How dare I misrepresent myself and ship on Monday she was expecting the item and no longer needs it. I don't even know how to reply to this. Item is still in transit I did nothing wrong but am going to take abuse because eBay guestimated an outrageous date based not on my handling if I wanted pressure I would offer same day.

I read somewhere that eBay now uses your history of actual handling times (not your stated handling time) to determine guaranteed delivery dates. So if you typically ship next day, then that could explain your situation.

Send a polite message pointing out that eBay shows an ESTIMATED delivery date and that you shipped the item within your handling time as quickly as you were able.
I also use a 3 day handling time for similar reasons, but because of eBay's brazen disregard for my choices I don't ship in 1 day even when I can. Their policies punish sellers when we choose to ship sooner than our handling and create far more UNHAPPY customers through their own idiotic processes.
