HS codes

Hello, does anyone know the HS code for a cross stitch kit shipping to USA from Canada ? The kit has different materials, I believe cotton (embroidery thread) and linen ( cross stitch material).  It is manufactured in Denmark.

I am selling my late wifes items and dont know much about this topic and am new to selling on e-bay.

You don't need to be concerned with HS codes unless you are a business selling in bulk -- e.g., a container load. There are no import restrictions on incidental sales to retail customers. Besides, any mailed item valued under $200 is not subject to U. S. Customs duty or excise tax.

According to Canada Post the HS code is 6308.00.  Always leave out the decimal when putting the code on the shipping label so you would enter 630800.  

I always fill in the code on international labels although I've heard that it is not required on light or small packet parcels..

Actually, I'm fairly certain it's $800 now.  I've had several $200+ packages imported from Japan and I didn't get charged duties on any of them.
