HELP WITH ADDITIONAL SHIPPING CHARGES....

Has anyone been able to make eBay understand that the additional Fedex shipping charges they assigned to me at the tune of $275 dollars could not have been since I have the receipt from Fedex where their employee sold me the box packed it and also weighted it????    The oriental customer service people do absolutely nothing and I am unable to find where I can submit my receipt for the item shipped that only weighted 60 lbs and now ebay tells me that it weighted 145 lbs.....   This is crazy how can I make someone understand the issue.

HELP WITH ADDITIONAL SHIPPING CHARGES....

Need some information.

Origin zipcode

Destination zipcode

Dimensions

You used fedex to pack while having a prepaid label from eBay? So you knew exactly size of the box fedex would use ?

Larger boxes fall under dimentional weight. So if a larger box was used regardless of actual weight you will be billed the dimentional weight of the package.

And how are you supposed to km

now this? Lets say you assume dimensional weight. there is no way to purchase a dimensional WEIGHT through eBay. ..which means that you have to go to FedEx to purchase the label. which also means you don't get the eBay discounted weight.  and to top it all off. eBay does not request a refund they side with FedEx. eBay response? You should have read all the terms & conditions on the Fed Ex website. Which does not explain the criteria for what determines if a package is dimensional weight or actual weight. in addition they can't explain what the $44 of "Additional Handling Fees"

In conclusion, best to not do business with FedEx. Blatant money grab!

Your listing says it weighs 60 to 70 pounds, then you have to figure in the packaging.

Does the $275 include what it cost them to pack t for you?

Have a great day.

HELP WITH ADDITIONAL SHIPPING CHARGES....

There are many surcharges with UPS and FedEx that are not factored in until the carrier physically reviews the package.

Read more in the FedEx Guide - start on page 102:

https://www.fedex.com/content/dam/fedex/us-united-states/services/Service_Guide_2023.pdf

You can find guides for all carriers on eBay Seller Center under "preventing shipping label price adjustments."

https://www.ebay.com/sellercenter/shipping/preparing-your-shipment/packaging-and-measuring

In order to help you determine if your charge was legit or in error (and how to appeal), view the label details and expand the section on the bottom right that says see cost breakdown (highlighted below in green). Black out order #, tracking #, and buyer ID and post a screenshot @designers-are-you .

That's incorrect @chadonn71 . eBay's shipping calculator automatically factors in dimensional weight as long as the seller enters correct package outer dimensions when purchasing the label (and on the listing form when using calculated shipping).

HELP WITH ADDITIONAL SHIPPING CHARGES....

Well when was that rolled out? The shipping Dept at eBay told me that there is know way to enter in the multiplier. Even if I had done that, how would I account for why my package is determined to be dimensional vs. Actual. Am I to assume whichever is higher will prevail? It's easier to just not use FedEx

Rolled out many years ago. You don't need to account for your package rates being based on dimensional or actual weight. As long as you enter accurate package (outer) dimensions and weight, the system will do the work for you.

If actual weight is 3 lb and dimensional weight is 18 lb, you will see the same exact rate on the shipping calculator when you enter those package dimensions with either 3lb or 18lb as the weight.

As for it being easier to not use FedEx: I agree that for many sellers that's a correct assessment. FedEx comes with a lot of surcharges that are not factored in upfront and unless one is well-versed and educates themself then they can easily be hit with surprises for extra handling and other surcharges.

Sorry for the late reply, I was on a cruise.

You can get a Fedex label on eBay and I knew from the item's manual and from having the item at home the measurements and weight and I added 9 pounds for a 3 lbs charger.  The box was sold to me by Fedex and it was packed by their employee.  I never put the item in the box myself and they weighted it at the store.  The size of the box is printed on the $30 charge receipt Fedex gave me.  I submitted it to Fedex and they still say they are correct.  Where can I email my information to eBay???

Yes but the size is not what is printed on my Fedex receipt  when they sold me the box.

Do you have a screen shot of the label details On seller hub.

A package that size would definitely go by DIM weight. Your actual weight doesn't matter unless it's more than DIM weight.

You can go to fedex to have them package but you gotta go back to buy a label to make sure everything is entered on the label correctly.

I have a feeling the dimensions you entered when you purchases the label don't match what was actually used.
