Good Return Rate?

Hi,

im a relatively new ebay seller and have a 2.5% return rate for over 500 transactions.

As sellers, do you guys have a percentage that you wouldn’t want to go over? Just curious what you guys strive for.

Re: Good Return Rate?

@sfc_auto_parts  That 2.5% of 500 is about 12 - 13 returns.  Check your Seller Dashboard and see what % eBay allows before they take action like reducing your level.  That seems a bit high so I think you may want to figure out why you are getting all those returns and correct it.

Re: Good Return Rate?

My lifetime return rate is about 0.1% which is 0.1% more than I'd like, and is 0.0% for the last 4 years., but I'm a clutter seller.

Your selling category is tough, and frankly attract more numpty buyers than collectibles and such do.

I looked at what you are selling , And I'm  not surprised  by the returns you are getting from nutty buyers . Can you tell us what some  the reasons  given to you for the returns ?

Re: Good Return Rate?

My return rate is 3% ... typically because of "doesn't fit".  Obviously, I want a zero return rate.

Return rate varies based on the categories you sell in.    Shoes can have a double-digit return rate ...

Re: Good Return Rate?

I'd say 90% of them were buyer's remorse reasons ( typically doesn't fit) and 10% were due to my mistakes.

Wow ! 90% buyer's remorse case's because they bought the wrong part.   I wish buyers would  read before buying the item first .  at lest do better research on parts they need before buying .

Re: Good Return Rate?

phcd1 - that is 10% of his 2.5%, or 1-2 mistakes
