Would appreciate feedback on handling a customer’s dissatisfaction with a shipped item using Global Shipping Program. I charged $8 shipping and additional $40 was added by ebay for gsp charges. Item was shipped on Aug 10 and customer started complaining on Aug 21st. Customer Cannot understand how gsp works and after a few back and forth messages, is now requesting a refund. I feel i did everything right and I do not want to issue a refund. It is unlikely the customer will Ship / return the brand new item To me. But at the same time, i am a Very small seller And I do not want my rating tarnished. What are my options ? Please advise . Thank you

Not that the shipped item was sold for $50 and with my shipping charge of $8 and gsp charge of $40, the customer ended up paying approximately $98. How are gsp charges communicated to foreign customers? Why is this person surprised by charges?

They should have seen the charges when they checked out..just before they paid. If they were shopping on .com, they would see the shipping charges when they looked at the listing but would not see the import charges until just before they paid. On many of the other ebay sites such as .ca, the shipping and import charges are shown right on the listing.
Are they requesting a refund because they feel that they paid too much or because the item hasn't arrived yet? Either way, you shouldn't refund. If they are complaining about the cost explain that those costs are not set by you or collected by you. If it is past the estimated delivery date and they haven't received it, they can open an item not received claim. As long as the item reached the gsp center in Erlanger, the gsp will be responsible for refunding an item not received claim.

Where did you ship the item? I ask because I clicked on one of your sold items that ended a few days before the 10th and it was not in GSP. You offered International Shipping in that listing but it doesn't fly the GSP logo or say no additional charges due at delivery and there's no box for the Import Fee, which would be there even if that fee isn't applicable..
Explain to the buyer once the item is shipped you won't issue a refund until you get the item back.
Your listings show 12 to 18 business days delivery for International mail and today is just 8 business days later. It's not even due to arrive until between the 3rd and 11th of Sept so why are they being so impatient? (I would ask) They shouldn't buy if they can't wait for the delivery date showing in your listings.
Another reason I don't believe it's in GSP is because if it has to go to Kentucky first which takes at least 3 days, and then sit there for another few days before it leaves there.
Anyway, were it in GSP once tracking shows delivered your're protected from a not received claim because you would've fulfilled the shipping that was required of you. Meanwhile if it is not in GSP they can't file a dispute until after the expected delivery date in the listing. Where did you ship it?

You need to contact GPS on this issue.

I think the seller is confused about what is the Global Shipping Program and what is International Standard Delivery shipping.
It appears the seller is using eBay International Standard Delivery, not GSP shipping. The seller prints the label on eBay and sends it directly to the buyer's address and not to Erlanger. There is no indication in their listings it's shipped GSP.
I AM SO FRUSTRATED WITH OPs not returning and answering OUR questions that need clarifying.

if not replying with @ is the OP notified?
Maybe they did not check the box to be notified when "anyone" replies.
Some can't find their way back.

Thank you for taking the time to help me. I shipped item to Airport Exchange Blvd, Erlanger, KY.
on the ebay app, I only see an option to check gsp. No info appears to Add logo or import fee. How do I correct this?

I believe they feel they paid too much and I ripped them off. I do not believe they received the item yet.

I am sorry for delayed response. It was late when I posted my inquiry and I went to sleep. I appreciate your willingness to help. I shipped item to Erlanger, ky under gsp.

I'm wondering. Did the buyer pay $98.00 at check-out? The OP indicates that the $40.00 was added by GSP
at some point.
1) Would GSP (Ebay) invoice the buyer after the item had been shipped and the OP had been paid $58.00 ?
2) How would that money be collected. The buyer would have complained at that moment IMO.
3) Did the buyer pay $58.00 or $98.00 when he checked out? It's all very confusing to me. If the buyer paid $98.00 at check-out he should have complained at that point. If he was tagged later for another $40.00 he should have said Uh-Uh and not paid.
Are we confusing customs charges with shipping costs?

Thank you for helping me. The customer started the conversation by asking wgy charges were “split.” I do not see any way to look at the buyers purchase details. My selling order Detaol shows $58 paid. $50 for item and $8 for my priority mail shipping to Erlander, ky under gsp.

The money is split because when the buyer checks out you get the item money and shipping costs to ship to KY. The shipping from KY to the international location goes to Pitney Bowes for the gsp.

"sit there for another few days before it leaves there." How about sit there for 10-12 days, this is why buyers are getting peeved. Most business will hire more people to handle the extra work but it's been 10-12 days for months now. this is affecting eBay sellers like crazy. I ordered two items, shipping USPS (no GSP) and 5 days later it is already in Canada. USPS is the best! GSP does not believe in CS, blames the covid, I blame poor management.

I see the gsp on their sold listings.
