eBay tells me (twice) that my "Action is needed" regarding shipping of a book (I am the buyer).
They seem to need it for "further details on delivery". The package has been shipped, so the information (my birth number): Please have (fødselsnummer) available for final customs clearance and delivery of your order.
I'm not quite sure if I am supposed to just "have it available" somewhere, or if i should provide the carrier or the seller with it. The eBay pages did not make me much wiser, although that may be my own fault.
Can anyone help?

Since you are located in Norway, you probably signed up to use ebay, from one of their European sites, like ebay U.K. (ebay.co.uk) or the German/Deutschland site (ebay.de.com). This question could be better answered by posting your issue on that site's community.
Having said that, I know that some countries customs or postal services do require some form of verification before an international package can be delivered or picked up from an office. So I do not think that giving your birth date would be an unusual request.
