Global Shipping Program Package... Missing...

Hi,

 

Item purchased June 28th. Shipped from the US on June 30th. Bounced around the US and then finally shipped from Chicago to Singapore on July 14th.

 

New Aramex tracking number shows it arrived in Singapore on July 16th at 5:27 am and "Shipment held for customs clearance"

 

Finally on the 21st I contacted Aramex to find out when the package would be delivered. 7 emails back and forth all telling me the package never arrived in Singapore.

 

One of the responses from Aramex: As what we inform you previously, physical parcel not yet in SIN/ no physical scan, Update you've seen in website are just systems scan that once parcel/AWB enter SIN/Customs facility it needs to undergo for clearance processing.

 

I contacted the seller. He is a nice guy and I really don't want to cause him any grief. This is not his fault and this is out of his control.

 

I contacted Ebay (twice). They say they cannot give me any contact info for anyone who manages the Global Shipping Program. They would look into it internally but can't promise me any personal response. They suggested both times to file a dispute with the seller. I don't want a refund and I don't want to screw the seller on this. I just want to know where the package is!

 

Now July 23rd. Aramex does not have it. They don't know where it is. 8 days after it shows that it arrived in Singapore. They say it has not arrived yet.

 

I've tried to call Aramex but every phone number just takes you in a loop talking to a robot. There is no way to speak to a human at Aramex.

 

Question: What should I do at this point? 8 days is a long time for a package to be missing isn't it? Should I just file a dispute and buy the item locally? Sitting on my hands and waiting for the package to magically arrive at Aramex seems like a foolish thing to do.  It's their job to know where packages are and if they haven't seen it in 8 days then something would obviously be wrong. I can't just sit here and do nothing.

 

I am incredibly frustrated and angered by this experience. I would appreciate some advice on what to do at this point.
