In the past two weeks, two of our international buyers (UK and New Zealand) have reported that they get an error during check-out indicating that we do not ship to their country and that eBay wants us to send them an invoice. They are suggesting that sellers go around the Global Shipping Program and ship directly to the buyers to complete the transaction. We have no interest in doing that.
As such, we've removed Global Shipping from all of our listings and don't want to get into taking responsibility for international shipping. That was the very reason we selected Global Shipping in the first place. The service worked perfectly for us... until these two recent glitches.
We thought the issue might be due to recent virus restrictions in various countries, but no one at eBay has been able to confirm or deny this.
To date, eBay Customer Service reports that this is a known issue and that it has been reported to their tech team... and may take up to 90 days to resolve. Doesn't seem like a very helpful answer... as buyers should be able to complete their transactions in a more timely manner.
Frankly, we can't tell whether we're receiving accurate information... but the bottom line is that there have been no helpful answers to our many requests for help. We really do want to continue using the Global Shipping Program... but under the circumstances, we also believe that our customers deserve better service than these recent glitches would indicate.
Is anyone else having a similar problem? Have anyone found a solution? Thanks....

Do you have, or did you have, that problem with ALL International sales that used GSP?
I ask because it is one method some scammers have used to get the sale off site, and be able to send a fake 'You've Got Cash' e-mail.

I just recently updated your original post on this issue. Please see below:
I wanted to provide you with an update. I have confirmed with our Product group, that there is a bug currently in GSP, that is causing items to show GSP correctly, but not be able to be purchased in checkout because of Seller exclusions (GSP is not able to override these exclusions). This is not happening on all GSP transactions, but we have been alerted to cases, including yours, where this is happening on a fraction of orders.
We have opened an internal ticket and our Product team is working on the solution.
I apologize for the inconvenience, and I know it can be frustrating to have to make changes to existing orders, which can cause a negative buyer/seller experience.

I have had that problem 3 times now and lost 2 sales because of it.
What is the timeline on it getting fixed?

Can you please provide the item or order numbers this happened on, so the transactions can be added to the ticket?

Buyer got a UPI strike so you may look into scrubbing lots of those out as well...I'm sure there are plenty that have been given that were not necessarily deserved.

Based on eBay's confirmed resolution with GSP... we have successfully opted into the program again... and this morning we have updated all of our listings to once again include the Global Shipping Program for our international buyers. Thanks for helping to facilitate a fix that can return international buyers to our store. We don't have an int'l purchase yet... but we're looking forward to seeing that happen again.
