Global Shipping Program - Better check to see if you are enrolled without your knowledge

I received an order for an item this week that was sold under EBAY's Global Shipping Program. The GSP is something I knew nothing about so I researched it in EBAY help and here on the community. I had a couple of negative selling experiences years ago when I first started selling on EBAY so I made the decision to never sell internationally. Could not find any info on if I had to pay for return shipping in case of a dispute. It is just stated in EBAY's written policy that you ship the item to KY center and that "the magical international shipping fairies take care of everything from there. No worries for you". Called CS to ask further. First rep just said a number of times, "When you opted in to the GSP...", which I told him, "no, I never opted into it. I never would have because of my previous losses on international ship, emt". And he "Didn't have any information on return policies about GSP in his department, that's all handled by KY". Called a second rep. and got the same canned responses. I then went into my preferences and saw that the GSP option was activated. I tried a couple of times to turn the switch off, and the webpage always came back with an error that "The webpage was unavailable". So I called CS a 3rd time and the rep. was able to "Opt me out of GSP". She also did tell me that ues, I would be responsible for the international shipping charges in the case of a buyer dispute. So you may want to check your GSP status under your preferences if you do not want to use the program because you too, "May have "forgotten" that yiou chose to opt in to it at some point".

LOL. P.S. to above.

Just went to check my wife's account, which she hasn't done much on forr the past number of years. She also had a large loss by an international scammer probably about 10-12 years ago when she first started selling here and after that, she decided on no more international sales. She also must have "forgotten" to not opt into the GSP, beause she was in it. At least it let her opt out herdelf from her selling preferences. Although that's not certain yet as "it will take up to 72 hours to coomplete the opt out process". Guess I'll just have to check her account (and mine) in a few days to make sure we are both opted out. Oh no, what am I saying? I don't have to waste time following up on that.
