I just dropped my packages today before 5pm, and it was marked Delivered 5:17pm in the same city. I just received from two customers complaining about the same problem.
Should I do something with the Post Office? Will the system correct itself and update the tracking as it goes?
I am worried that the mails may get stranded due to the glitch.

Guess what you meant is summed up in this 1962 song by Mary Wells - was a junior in HS then - enjoy a trip down my memory lane - it was fun growing up near Motown

Had this same issue a few years ago - actually two times.
Solution to your concern. Go to your local PO ask for them to run an intra USPS tracking report - much more complete than what we see on eBay or USPS tracking- it may take some time so don't be in a hurry. This intra USPS report showed the tracking history up to the point of delivery to the buyers location. Get a copy for your records in case you need them if a buyer claims an INR. Take a clear pic of the report - send it to the buyer via eBay messages. If need be ask eBay to review your eBay message - you'll be good to go.

But Usps tracking still keeps the same "
Actually no, one of them is still stuck on that on the USPS.com page, but the other is now showing a full tracking history all the way up to an Alert of this morning, reporting that the package is being forwarded. Also, I forgot to mention earlier that in the case of that package, the earlier incorrect Delivered entry has now been removed from the Tracking History page as seen on USPS.com.

Yes, and I never thought I would ever agree with a statement like that without being sarcastic. I think I need to go lie down for a while...

Tell your buyers to keep their robes on.
The package accepted button and package delivered button are right next to each other on the computer screen. The clerk just hit the wrong one, doesn't really make much difference.
The tracking will still update as they move and will show delivered again when they reach their intended destination.

Not sure if this would help in your case but sometimes when I've done it, the package tracking seems to update. I go to the usps site for tracking After putting in the #, I request email updates--you then have a number of options for the type of updates you want. You can even opt for all notices. I often put in the name of object for name so I know what package the notice is about when I receive it.
See if that will help correct the tracking on the site.
Hope this helps.
