I'm an American living in South Central Mexico. I've ordered quite a few items through the Global Shipping Program without any issues from USPS or DHL(the international carrier). Today, I noticed that I had an item marked by USPS as "Delivered." Having already checked my physical mailbox and never seen any delivery trucks...something just wasn't right. I checked the tracking number through several sites(other than USPS) and all gave the same odd results. Item "Delivered" (marked in green as completed destination) to Erlanger, KY at the Global Shipping Facility. Normally, when I track items there, they go through International customs processing for 2-3-days and then ship out to Mexico City for their final customs check and then delivery to my adjacent city. In this case, it would appear all tracking for the item has ceased. This was a notification I received from eBay at about 7:30 this morning. The seller simply said; "The item is there to be shipped to you...that's all. Thanks" and provided no explanation for why it would appear that the item made it there and could possibly be lost in their massive international sorting warehouse. Anyone here know why this would happen and what can I do? I've written the seller again but because people are busy celebrating the dumb holiday...no answers. Help?

It can take up to 5 business days for the GPS to process the shipment & send the new tracking number. Ebay may have changed things and thats why you are seeing "delivered" but again thats just for the first leg of the package's journey. It HAS been delivered to the GSP and you now you have to wait to hear from them. The seller doesn't write anything about forwarding the package, its all handed by Pitney Bowes.

Erlanger, KY is where the GSP center is located. Your package will be processed and you will be sent a new tracking number.

Your package was delivered to the GSP hub in KY. You'll get a new tracking number after the Gsp processes the package and ships it on. I am not understanding the problem here. The delivered status is for the domestic part of your package's journey.....

Well, the problem is the fact that out of hundreds of orders I've made from the States through GSP, they have never marked an item as "delivered" to the Global Shipping Facility and then simply stopped giving updates on the item. It's been almost 3-days since this happened, if the item were to magically obtain a new tracking number as you stated...wouldn't they have done that by now or at least updated the order? For me, out of hundreds of international orders, this has never happened. The seller is vague and non-attentive to the issue...so, this might escalate. Let me ask this question: Is it possible the seller shipped it to Erlanger, KY(GSP) and wrote something incorrect about the item's forward shipping to international? Now, I've asked the seller this question twice already and haven't received an answer. Here's the average scenario for me if a package arrives at the Global Shipping Center.
*Item arrived at Global Shipping Facility in Erlanger, KY
1. Item Processing through customs to ship to final destination
2. Item processed and shipping to international destination
3. Item arrived at Mexico City hub for customs approval
4. Item approved and departed Mexico City hub to city of destination
5. Item arrived at Pxxxx, Pxxx DHL facility and out for delivery
6. Your package has been delivered
In those steps I've recorded from past orders, never has an item changed tracking and/or been marked as "delivered" to the GS facility. Answers?

Jen had the answer. I just had to wait and see the tracking had changed. They changed it today and it's in transit. This is a first but now knowing that they can pre-maturely mark items delivered before their delivery to GPS and seeing they also change tracking; I won't be as worried the next time it happens.
Thanks!
