I've been selling a little bit here and there (used half.com a lot) for 5 years and never saw this board before. So I have a question....i wanted to list some of my books but others have them listed for a couple dollars and then free shipping on top of that!!! How in the world do I compete with that and how do they even make money then!!! I just don't get it.

Hello, @alynda1
Cheap book sellers have very low profit margins = so low that there is no compeitition. They are usually huge sellers who make huge profit from selling so much. I, personally, stay away from selling those books. And books like that (usually mass market) would barely have more worth if those sellers aren't selling them. Do not sell those books, bottom line. Especially with the growing costs of shipping its not worth it to list it, take photos etc.
Hope this helps.

p.s. if you have thousands of books like these you may make some $$ but otherwise don't 😉

Above poster is right... it's not worth all the effort involved to list and make next to nothing. Keep the books that you can sell and actually make a profit and donate the rest to a local library or school.

Sellers are:
1. Liquidating a library. They don't want to make a profit . . . they just want to be rid of the books.
2. Forgot to add shipping . . . oops!
3. Is in China.
