I avoid offering "free shipping" unless the item can be mailed via First Class Mail or Media Mail, which have fixed rates regardless of distance.
Some sellers simply add the Zone 8 cost to the item price -- which means the seller makes extra money if the buyer is in Zones 1 through 7.
"Loose" is the opposite of "tight."
