Glad I just looked through all my invoices and credits for the month, because I was almost out $110.
Had a buyer return an item (free returns), and they had damaged the item while it was in their possession. I deducted 15% of the refund through the free returns options to get the item repaired. The buyer escalated the case, ebay stepped in and issued a courtesy refund for the difference to the buyer, and we all walked away happy... or so I thought.
Today I noticed I hadn't received my FVF back for the item yet. Gave eBay a call and was told "Oh yeah, we have to do those manually, so if you want your FVF back you need to call and ask for it.". I was also told "If you had kept over 20%, you wouldn't have gotten your fees back at all." I wasn't aware of either of these facts, and can't find it in written policy anywhere.
So just a heads up to fellow sellers who offer free returns. Maybe it's written somewhere, but I couldn't find it. I'm sure someone on the boards knows the rules backwards and forwards, and can shed some light on this.

Holy God, I just looked at my invoices and same thing here. I'm gonna call eBay tomorrow. They owe me a lot of money.
Thanks for this OP. The devil is always in the details isn't it? Those sneaky dogs.
