Not sure this is a common thing or not, but the stolen account purchases have been through the roof for us. Making us verify each order that we get over a certain dollar value. Even then it doesn't help. Today we experienced another scam. Sold a $510 item with serial number accounted for. Customer states we shipped the wrong thing, same brand just the $200 version. We apologized, sent a label for return and today we get back the product with non matching serial numbers. Our inventory is also spot on for these two items. Crazy, not sure how to proceed. Seems as though this customer got their hands on a cheap sander for even less and used that against buying a more expensive one. There just seems to be new ways some think of to mess with sellers. We are small and each miss step hurts.
