Did you mean:

For those having trouble getting your packages to the shipper on time.

First off I have no financial interest in Uber and I have never used them., I only offer this for the information of eBay sellers.

Starting in 5000 U S Cities, Uber will start picking up a maximum of five prepaid and sealed packages (at your request of course) for a flat fee of $5.00 and deliver it to the post office, or the UPS or FedEx store.. (Uber One members only pay $3). That is significantly less than UPS and FedEx charge for a pickup. The article says that driver’s will provide visual confirmation of the delivery. And, of course, in due time you will see a scan on the carrier’s website.

It is true that the post office will pick up for free IF you schedule it the day before. But I have seen posts on these boards from sellers who have said that even though they scheduled a pickup the postal carrier didn’t take it. Then there was the day I had car trouble and simply couldn’t get to the post office.

Or maybe you just aren’t feeling well, or you are having a really REALLY busy day and there just isn’t enough time, or there is somewhere more important you need to be. $5 to avoid up to 5 shipping dings sounds like a good deal to me.

Or maybe you work a regular 9-5 job and are just having trouble making that delivery run on time.

Again, I an NOT hyping Uber. I have no connection to them. BUT for those who sometimes have trouble getting a package out on time this might be an occasional stopgap.

I kinda feel if you cannot ship your packages when they need to be shipped then maybe selling on eBay isn't the answer for you. Just my own opinion.

I would have liked to see this played out in NYC when it was pouring rain and the rates for traveling a few miles cost passengers $200.+ How can one predict such weather events?
