I bought a small item from a seller on ebay. It was 2 weeks late arriving and had invalid postage on it, which I meant had to pay to have delivered by the post office. I left some negative feedback for the seller and I received an email from them stating "Sorry you had to pay £2, please revise your feedback and we'll refund your postage".....I reported this to ebay as Feedback Extortion, to which they agreed and agreed to investigate the seller. Since then, my feedback on this seller has been removed. I called ebay and asked them why this was, they said "This appears to be a first offence for this seller, so we removed your feedback."...There is clearly other feedback on this sellers account stating that they've done this before, so what is going on? I know it's only £2, but there are principles here, can someone tell me why I'm £2 out of pocket and I can't leave negative feedback?

I'm curious. When you received the item and it was short on postage, did you contact the seller to make them aware of this and give them a chance to fix it (refund the cost)? Or did you just leave the negative feedback right away?
I don't ask this to be confrontational, just because it may have influenced how Ebay looked at it IMO.

Thanks for responding, I looked at their previous feedback and saw they were a repeat offender, so left them negative feedback without seeking a refund. As mentioned it was only £2, so I felt that it was t worth the hassle to seek a refund and better to let others know that this seller does this. I am only aggrieved that eBay removed the feedback
