Fedex would not deliver because of damage

I purchased an antique framed print (1930s ocean liner Brenen) on eBay for $350.00 and it was shipped by the seller on FedEx.

FedEx said it was damaged in shipping and would not deliver it to me. FedEx said they would send it

back to the seller. The seller now says that FedEx will not deliver it back because it is damaged beyond

repair and will be destroyed by FedEx. Neither I nor the seller have seen the print or the damage.

Has anyone heard anything like this? What is FedEx hiding?

Sounds like they are hiding the fact that they ran over it with a forklift and trashed it beyond recognition.

LOL...I was gonna say truck, but yeah.

It also could have been involved in a truck accident. I've seen FedEx trucks burning on the side of the road before.
