So I bought an item over $750 and the seller sent it via FedEx Ground and required a signature (as they should since its over $750). I was home all day long with my door open and was even washing my car outside waiting for Fedex to come. I also have several cameras pointed at my door. Well Fedex says the item was delivered without a signature.... the delivery time was also when I was outside washing my car... I don't know how they managed to do this when a Signature was required for it. I've talked to several fedex workers and they can't explain it either, the driver clearly found a way around the system.
The seller is trying to stiff me, they were all understanding till I followed their request with starting a claim on eBay. Then they started lying through their teeth and trying to tell ebay it was a "confirmed" delivery and they have a "case opened with Fedex" ( I have a case opened with Fedex and they still don't know what happened and have no idea how this was "delivered without a signature"). The seller is clearly lying.
I also have a POLICE REPORT with the serial number of the item and the documentation from Fedex clearly showing on their tracking info that they "Left package on porch" even though it needed to be signed.
I know it says delivered... but a signature was required and Fedex never got one fir it and left it anyways. This is definitely a weird situation. I know other posts that have similar stories but I think this one is very unique and I'm worried that the seller is going to stiff me with this, especially since they seem to have a complete change of attitude and character towards the situation after I filled a claim of INR via eBay

That's it, you did a perfect presentation of your case. Save the eBay's rep name handy plus time of your call
Seller needs to payoff in full. I feel bad for the Seller but this was a high value item and no place to cut corners in shipping costs
If this package was insured for an extra $10, none of this was necessary, insurance would have paid off

The problem seems to be with FedEx not the seller. They did everything right. FedEx has trackers when they drop off packages. Either they dropped it off somewhere else or it was stolen. If signature was required and they didn’t do it that falls on them. Follow up on the police report and fedex.

Did you make sure the address was correct when you placed the order for the item? Have you spoke with any neighbors to see if they received it by mistake?

Wait, you said it was delivered! So you got the package?

Call fedex and see if it was delivered to your address. Could be the old fake tracking number scam again.

No. If I got the package then I wouldn’t have filed a police report for the missing item

Fake tracking numbers? Please explain, I’ve never heard of this

Well now I’m learning about fake tracking numbers and apparently that’s a thing so I’m having some serious suspicions with all of this. I just don’t appreciate the complete change of character and attitude towards the situation from the seller. At first they’re understanding then they’re literally lying to eBay and telling them a bunch of **bleep** and when I ask for proof of documentation, case numbers, police reports on their end… Nothing comes up from them. To me it looks like they know how to work the system.

Yea the address was correct and I talked to everyone on my block. No dice.

Although required, this package hasn't been insured. That's why it wasn't signed at receiving point. There was no reason for Fedx delivery to seek signature
Ask Seller for proof of insurance if there is one. It's a high value item lost in transit, Seller should have provided a service coverage in case

Four things:

Yep, just because Seller didn't Insure, package as well as money are lost ... Still Seller 's responsibility. Apparently, there was no Signature Required services purchased. Seller needs to provide a proof for that
For few dollars Sellers could have insured the package. It's close to $10 on eBay site for this item. Then, everyone would have had a pleasant day

Thats what eBay is saying now that I got on the phone with them. Since the package required a signature to be officially delivered but a signature was not obtained... the delivery is incomplete.

The problem is 100% with Fedex but since the package required a signature to be officially delivered but a signature was not obtained... the delivery is incomplete. eBay is now saying its the seller that has to refund me. Also they should have gotten insurance for this delivery but it seems that they skimped on insurance too.

Explanation of tracking number scam:
Item sent to area you live in not your addy.
It has a tracking number so it shows as delivered when it is not.
Contact the shipper and ask if it was delivered to YOUR address on file with eBay.
