I dropped off a package at FedEx Walgreens location. Walgreens scanned my package and it’s showing proof that I have dropped it off. However, there has been no updates since then. I personally went down to Walgreens to ask and they confirmed the driver had picked it up. They even checked the security camera footage to make sure. They also said the driver did scan packages and they can’t answer why it’s not showing up.
I called FedEx and they are saying they don’t have any record of the package being picked up. They don’t even see it as a valid tracking number on their system. Sounded like I’m not gonna be covered under their insurance if the package is lost??? Since there was no scans all they can say is the package is at Walgreens and not in their procession.
Now im really freaking out. Did this ever happen to others before? Is it normal for FedEx to not scan packages??

Never, ever, ever drop a package at a 3rd party location without getting scan confirmation. With Walgreens I recommend confirmation via email. If they scanned it correctly you will have the email within minutes.
They will also offer an option to send confirmation via text messages. I did this the first few times. I DID NOT receive the text message confirmation. The package did not show a scan until it hit one of the regional hubs. The store insists they watch the driver scan packages every day (yea right).
But if I do the text message confirmation it doesn't work, email does. Makes me think there's something wrong with how the text message scans work that mess with the scan history as well, like maybe the text message is failing before the scan registers in the system.

Did it ever deliver ? What ended up happening? The exact same thing is happening to me with a customers order, I’ve been jumping through hoops all day trying to track this thing down. Never use Walgreens they are terrible when it comes to FedEx.

How long ago was that @avahope2013 ? It can take up to 24 hours for tracking scans to populate on the carrier's website. There can be an additional delay with that info showing up on eBay. If you're concerned you can sign up for tracking updates on the carrier's website so you're alerted when scans appear.
Generally packages will get scans at the next facility or at some point before it reaches the buyer. In the rare event that doesn't happen, then yes, you'd have to refund the buyer if they file a claim. It's also possible for an item to get delivered with no scans (though that's more a USPS thing than FedEx or UPS) and if that happens you might never hear from the buyer.

I just spent an hour on the phone with FedEx asking the same question. If I pay their exhorbitant rates for insurance, at what point am I covered? If they don't scan it until they get to the station, it has been handled twice by FedEx employees and yet it is not in the system to enable "coverage?" This is a major chain of custody issue.
