I do a bit of buying, and it seems like the only time there are issues with delivery, it is from FedEx.
Last week, I had a $200 cordless tool set I bought. I have packages delivered to my work, a small office so I know I will get it, from 9-5 M-F. Hours are posted clearly. Nobody is home during the day at home. Anyway, tracking showed Thursday as "On truck for delivery". Never came, tracking that night showed business closed when they tried after 5.
Friday, tracking showing again "On truck for delivery". Never saw it. Went home, checked tracking at 9pm, shows "Left in front of garage, sig not requested". Now, my work is an auto salvage/scrap metal yard, and we get alot of cars dropped off out front after hours and on weekends. I KNOW if it is left there on a Friday night, and we don't re-open till Monday morning, SOMEONE will see it and grab it! So I drive there that night, and package is no where to be seen...
The owner of the business calls me Sat morning, and says the neighbor contacted him, and said there was a stack of boxes left Fri after we had left so he took them for safekeeping. Turns out my package was there, along with parts, ect for the owner and the business, including alum cylinder heads and misc, well over $1,000 worth of stuff!
I sent a message to FedEx, but got a generic "We'll look into it" reply. This hasn't been the first time something this has happened, lucky for us the neighbor saw the packages!
The other day we got a radiator, the whole side of the box was ripped open. Couldn't believe the rad was ok, inspected it before the driver left.
Just seems like they are the only company lately we have had issues with. Just wanted to rant a bit! lol

FedEx Ground seems to be OK, but I'me getting to the point where I would prefer people not send items to me via FedEx.

I've always preferred USPS to either FedEx or UPS for a lot of reasons. I mean they ship on Saturday, they can put stuff in your mailbox, they are subject to federal laws which prevent them from opening your packages, they don't pull into your driveway like they're angry at you, they're cheaper, on and on.
The private services never were a better deal for most folk's needs and I'm not sure how people began to think they were. Look at their performance now and that's when they know they're in competition with the USPS, I can't imagine how they'd treat us if we had no Postal Service.
