Sure hope this doesn't lead to increased shipping rates for both FedEx and UPS.

FEDEX has so many problems that they will point to any excuse beyond their control.
The question it brings to mind is who in their right mind is going to bid for USPS if it is put on the market?

Tariffs are not going to affect domestic shipments, tariffs may affect cross border shipments. A very significant portion of both FedEx and UPS business and revenue comes from cross border shipping.
