FedEx Discount Calculator

Hello everyone...

Thanks for taking the time to read my question and (potentially) share your wisdom.  I know your time is valuable, and thank you in advance for commenting and sharing your hard-earned experience!

The short and sweet version:  Does anyone know where I can find a (2020) chart for the discounts FedEx will give me when I purchase ground delivery service through eBay?

The long version:

I am beginning to list about 15 vintage water skis I've picked over the past few years, and I see the shipping charges are extremely high (USPS parcel select is close to $200 to, say, KY from CA) for my potential buyers.  Recently, I shipped some oversized items via FedEx ground, and the discounts were very generous (close to 50%).  I would very much like to be able to clearly and honestly explain the situation to potential customers in the item description, and assure them I'm willing to pass along the FedEx discount, but don't know how to accurately predict the actual shipping costs before they commit to buy.  It's one thing to write some words in the item description that assure customers I will refund shipping overages when they may be a few bucks, but $40-$60 can really make a difference when a customer is considering splurging on an old water ski.  As I'm writing this, I realize one answer is to not require immediate payment and send an invoice / bill for the exact amount once they commit to buy, so I'll be sure to structure the listings like that; but  I'm really trying to learn if there's a way to accurately inform and close the deal with potential customers who may be on the fence - rather than those willing to pay full price and be grateful for any refund they get.  Many thanks, Curtis

You should be able to set the shipping where you pass the savings to your buyers.

Have a great day.
