Fed Ex Smart Post

If I can determine someone ships using FedEx Smart Post I will NOT buy!  If you're a seller and don't identify that you're shipping through them, then you will get Neutral or Negative feedback.

They ship things all over the country and are consistently 5 - 10 days late.

Glad I don't sell to you if you're willing to give a neutral/neg because of the way someone ships. While SmartPost and SurePost are both a bit slower than regular USPS, I've never had to wait 5-10 days extra because of them. Usually it's only a couple of days and I can certainly wait for them.

You absolutely have that right not to purchase from a seller using SP. I applaud your staunch position. However, you cannot determine the method of shipping unless it is divulged ahead of time. Some buyers don't have deep pockets and would prefer to pay less for shipping, and wait a bit longer than pay for a bloated and overpriced shipping method.

I agree about Smart Post being slow as molasses running uphill on a subzero day. I will absolutely avoid sellers who  use it, because packages like to make it to a Fedex hub and then sit....and sit.....and sit.....and sit.....and sit. (the Lenexa KS hub is really, really bad. I had a package sit there once for NINE days before it moved to another Fedex hub where it sat for SIX more days)  I've had Smart Post packages take upwards of 21 days to deliver.  All that time in transit increases the chance of damage.  I'm not an impatient person--I just don't want stuff I've paid for bouncing around from Fedex hub to Fedex hub so it can sit there for a week or two.  I just pay for First Class Priority Mail.

I would not, however, leave a neg or a neutral for a seller who uses Smart Post for labelled economy shipping. I would just never purchase from them again.

I WOULD leave a neg for a seller who DOWNGRADED shipping. Smart Post is ECONOMY shipping. If it's used in the case of Standard or Expedited then the seller downgraded your shipping  you should be royally pizzed.

You must like BBL. BTW, eBay gives you an estimate when the delivery will be and its fairly accurate. UPS postal solutions is far worse, you might as well add that.

I agree that the listing should accurately state which shipping method will be used. Let the buyer decide if they accept that, or not. However... if a listing clearly states STANDARD shipping, and the seller ships ECONOMY, instead (SmartPost, Media Mail, Parcel Select, etc), that is a different story. Isn't a ding on feedback warranted?
