I have a customer who picked FedEx Express shipping and I printed out the eBay label for FedEx, attached it to the package, and placed it in a drop box 4 days ago and the package is now missing. Fed Ex can't find it and worse than that is the run around they gave us. The interesting part is when you try and file a claim, it states that the number is for FedEx Express and it tells you to go to a different location. We went to that location and guess what - it doesn't exist anymore. We were never able to file a claim with FedEx, but we finally got someone to open a complaint file.
Be careful using FedEx Express. There seems to be an issue with it.

Regardless if it is USPS, FedEx or UPS, i will always try to drop off any package at the counter and ask for a receipt. USPS had lost an item i dropped off in the bin. Hard to prove it was dropped off without a receipt/acceptance scan.
I ended up refunding the customer once it was determined lost.

Hopefully it got a scan before it got lost?

Always get some type of acceptance scan!
