I am trying to process a refund for a false return. By that, I mean that the buyer claims defective item, and I accepted the return in case I had missed something. I got the item back today. The item is just as described, they just apparently had buyer's remorse. I called eBay and they said to try to work with the buyer. Buyer and I have agreed that I would refund the purchase price but not shipping.
However, when I try to process the refund, I do not see an option other than a full refund. I called eBay and they sent me to the "PayPal department" where I have now been on hold for 1 hr 56 min so far. (Does that mean my call was lost? These 4 bars of hold music are getting REALLY old.) Do I hang up? Is there another way to do this?
I'd appreciate advice. Thanks.

The only way you will be able to issue a partial refund is through PayPal. You won’t be able to do it through eBay because of the return request.
