Export requirements for shipments from Peru

I recently purchased an item that will be shipped from Peru and the seller has contacted me to say that customs requires my phone number and email address.  Is this standard procedure?

I can't think of any reason why you shouldn't provide that information for an international purchase.  As a seller I require the buyer's phone number on all my listings when they sell.  Unfortunately, eBay now blocks sellers from having the buyer's email address which is necessary for filing any loss or damage claims.  So I have to ask the buyer for it.  You do want to assure that you receive your purchase as I have seen this is required information on international shipping.

That is correct, they are required in the document we fill at our Postal Service Office
