I have items that ebay's tracking is saying one thing and USPS is another. Items confirmed delivered but still at Post office on ebay. Some are showing items being returned to post office on ebay but not on USPS tracking. Got me seems like USPS tracking is correct and ebays is way off.

The USPS website might be more reliable. I don't know that eBay's information is as 'real time'.

Yes, when you request info on tracking on eBay, the eBay 'system" has to "go get" the info from USPS. Best I can tell that has some kind of delay built in.

That said, have seen (of recent) situations where eBay info was more up to date than the USPS website.

Shipping volumes are WAY up and the infrastructure appears to be highly stressed. Doesn't pay to sit on tracking and watch it as there are many glitches and messes ups in the process. imho Patience is key these days.

I never look at or rely on the shipping/tracking information out of eBay other than the number if that happens to be where I purchased and printed the label. The only way that eBay can obtain the tracking information is from USPS. EBay has not control over the actual shipping process. If I want to check on the real time tracking information I logon to the USPS site.

So ebay has said now one of my items was not shipped in time and put a strike on my selling metrics. The reason was no item scan. I sold the item on Nov. 24 it was delivered on the 27th, the 26th was a holiday so it got there quick and when I go to the USPS site and check the scanning the item was scanned 9 times, ebay tracking method is all screwed up.

eBay's tracking is horrible right now. I have currently got 8 hits on my account for not shipping on time. I have been in major discussions with eBay over this and they are still claiming that I didn't ship on time. If you go to the post office website and enter any one of my tracking numbers they all show scanned on time. I can't make eBay understand this. All of the "problem" scans are from the 24th.
