Ebay shows paypal transaction ID, but no such transaction is on paypal

I was recently refunded for a product, and it says the refund processed and went through on eBay, but there is no money back in my bank or PayPal account. The weird part is there is no sign of the transaction at all on PayPal, but it shows that the money has been taken out of my bank account back when I purchased the item. It says on eBay 

"This return is now completed the seller refunded $1234 to your original payment method is PayPal. PayPal transaction  XXX"

But that the hyperlinked ID  takes me to a page saying "oops this page doesnt exist"

Does anyone know what is going on and how to solve it? I can't open a case with PayPal as the transaction doesnt even exist.

Put that 17-long PayPal Transaction ID in place of [17-long] in  this URL:

If a transaction is refunded by eBay, the money is sent back to your original funding source -- so if the money originally came from your bank account, that is where it should ultimately wind up. How soon the money shows up depends on how fast your particular bank operates.

That means you didn't originally pay with PayPal either, so no refund will arrive there.
