Ebay's Random Rules

We sold a set of 81 books. Big sale for us. 8 boxes to ship media mail.

But ebay only allows us to print 5 labels. Why? Some suit felt that 5 labels should always be enough? Oh no, we don't want sellers frivolously buying extra mailing labels!

Called CS, can't do anything. Can't print through Paypal as already printed through ebay. USPS won't print out media mail (last we checked).

Any other ideas on how to get around this silly block?

Thanks.

How would a seller be able to anticipate eBay's arbitrary 5-labels-per-transaction limit?

Re: Ebay's Random Rules

It told me to try again later in big red letters.

So, okay, I'll try again... NOW!

... the paypal shipnow section doesn't work either (though they do let me waste my time putting in all the info! lol).

Re: Ebay's Random Rules

Partial, thank you so much for pushing me to try again. It worked!

But, I can only give out one solved credit and I have to give it to couldabeenworse as they first suggested it. Sorry, you definately deserve an assist. We owe you one.

(And yes, you're also right about arbitrary limits, lol)

Re: Ebay's Random Rules

Yes, Click-N-Ship is off the table for Media Mail. I was thinking in terms of no commercial rate rather than no label at all.  So go with Paypal, or stamps.com if you have an account there.

This is where keeping a supply of stamps on hand makes perfect sense.  USPS offers $1 and $2 stamps (maybe higher values?) and Media Mail is relatively cheap.

Another thought:  If you're in a rural area and friendly with your mail carrier, perhaps he/she would bring along some stamps and Label 400's (tracking number).  Or maybe accept payment (cash or check) and the boxes and buy the postage for you upon return to the PO.

Don't worry about that at all.  We don't get cash or gold stars or anything at all in exchange for all those nice green check marks.
