Ebay has Lost USPS Parcel Select choice on Label Printing page again

It seems that this Ebay issue re Parcel Select shipping rate option  has come up once again in 2021.  When a buyer purchasing an item with Parcel Select rate offered for shipping, the Ebay Label printing page changes the  shipping class to another  rate.   Could it be due to the Post Office raising the rates once again this year? Is it a glitch?  Losing $.

No, it's mainly because eBay don't offer it anymore.  You can still purchase it on PayPal or other sites like Pirateship.

It's not a glitch. eBay has decided to phase out access to Parcel Select Ground labels, even though USPS has made no changes in their services or policies, and it's offered by all other online postage sellers including PayPal, endicia, stamps.com, etc. When it's not offered, the shipping label page usually defaults to the first option on the list which is flat rate envelope. You can purchase Parcel Select Ground postage through PayPal at

But do compare prices before you do that. For Zones 1 - 4, the USPS online price for Priority Mail is  less than a dollar more than Parcel Select Ground. If you're a TRS you get a 3% discount when purchasing Priority labels through eBay, which often makes it cheaper than Parcel Select

IMHO Parcel Select ground should only be offered when necessary such as for hazmat or Oversize packages (i.e., length-plus-girth above the Priority limit of 108 inches).

There has been no official announcement about this shipping policy but an eBay staff member mentioned it in passing in post #15 in this thread:

Simply stupidity on Ebay's part.  There are too many domestic options for shipping including "DGM smart mail" which is DHL.  Does anybody use DHL????   There's also an option "Economy Shipping" which is no different than Fedex Smartpost and Parcel Select, they all deliver in the same time.

It's still an option if making a Label in the app. I dont use parcel but see it every time I make a label or checking rates before shipping for priority mail item. So this way you can still use your ebay payout funds. 

You make the label and then email it to yourself to print if you dont print from your phone. Option is always there to print or email
