I've been having some issues with my auctions when selecting UPS shipping. This has happened on a few auctions but the latest one was extremely excessive and probably costing me sales.
Seller bought my item and was charged $50 for shipping. I entered the correct weight, and package dimensions as well as the correct service (UPS ground). After payment, using the entered values, the shipping label was created (through ebay) with a cost of under $25.
I ended up refunding the buyer the difference. I've had to do this a few times when shipping is $15-20+ more than what ebay actually charges once the auction ends.
How can i correct this so the estimated shipping cost in the auction is closer to what is being charged once it ends?

Make sure you have enabled passing on your ebay shipping discount to the buyer in your Shipping Preferences.

I might not be so quick to give a refund. UPS and FedEx shipping you see when sending the package is an estimate, not actual cost. Any money paid at the time of mailing for those services is a holder, actual shipping will not be charged till item is delivered. While it could be less, it also could be higher (higher seller would have to eat). I would suggest waiting till it is delivered and you actual are charged before sending a refund if needed.
