Ebay closes return case before the item delivered?

Hello ,i d have an issue and id like to share with you  , i  returned an item to a seller between the timeframe given by ebay.After sent an agent put this case on hold for 7! business days in order for the item to be delivered  to the seller.The seller that paid the shipping back price Did not paid for an expedited shipping,and the item obviously was sent with normal post(usps) .

Usually from Greece to USA and the opposite it takes 3-4 weeks for an item to arrive,sometimes sooner ,sometimes later.So how can this return is required  7 business days to arrive?  This is not a shipment in the same country but a cross border shipment .Is there any policy that refers to the timeframe for an item to be delivered when is already shipped?( im not talking for the 10 days timeframe in order to ship the item back).Now the case was closed from ebay's side meawhile one day after the item had arrived to the seller( which for some reason as i see in the usps site he asked for the item to be forwarder to a different adress now).

So maybe anyone can help with this case? is there any  policy for this timeframe? thank you

If they can not help you then file another refund request on PayPal using the same tracking number that shows delivery to the seller

Hi brian@ebay,

1. after the case is put on hold for 5 days to allow the seller to send cash for return postage,

2. the buyer has 240 hours (10 days, from starting hour/minute to ending hour/minute) to get tracking scanned.

3. eBay allows 14 business days for an international return to be delivered.

4. Then if delayed, but tracking shows movement within the last 7 days, eBay waits another 10 days to allow more time for the return to be delivered.

5. The seller paid for return postage, so eBay holds the seller responsible and refunds the buyer even when there are any return delivery issues.

Hi brian@ebay, this seller sent cash for the return postage.

 

The escalation gave only "7 business days" for the return transit (should be 14 business days; it's an international case), and then closed without a refund because the return had not yet been delivered.

 

Shouldn't eBay have held the seller responsible for the still-in-transit return shipment, and refunded this buyer?

Hi @ga-8370, it does sound like a longer hold should have been placed. If tracking showed recent movement then the case should have been placed on another hold as well. @kabets1, I see that you are working with customer service on an appeal, so you'll need to continue working with them on this case.

Thank you for  all your responses ,indeed the customer service has put  again the case on hold ,but for 5 business days not 10 as referred.this ends in this friday,however i see in usps  site about the tr number

(Your item was forwarded to a different address at 4:53 am on March 7, 2020 in DALLAS, TX. This was because of forwarding instructions or because the address or ZIP Code on the label was incorrect.)

 

I m sure that i didnt made a mistake in the adress ,so the seller contacted and asked for delivery to a different adress? If it is so, this will delay further the delivery i believe the customer service can see this and allow more time for delivery.
